Daytime Highs

Summer has well-and-truly arrived in the Canaries in June, and you can expect temperatures in the mid to high 20s (Celsius) around the coasts. Lanzarote, on average, sees slightly higher temperatures than the more western islands at this time of year, though the difference is less than one degree.

Temperatures at Night

Temperatures are very pleasant at the coast throughout the Canaries in June, with averages of around 19°C. In the mountainous interiors, temperatures are quite a bit cooler, so unless you plan to visit the mountains, you can safely leave your jacket at home.

Rain

Rain is fairly unusual in Lanzarote or Fuerteventura in June with, on average, less than one day with rain during the entire month. The situation is similar in the south-coast resorts of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, with rain extremely unlikely. The northern slopes of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and La Gomera will likely see a few days with rain, while El Hierro remains mostly dry.

Cloud

In general the northern parts of all of the islands are much cloudier than the southern parts of the islands in June.

Sea Temperatures

Average sea temperatures range from about 20°C around Lanzarote to about 22°C around El Hierro (the water is always warmer in the western Canary Islands). This is usually warm enough for a comfortable swim without a wetsuit – though a wetsuit will still be needed for diving or surfing.
